Citizen Beta is a meetup for people interested in civic technology, empowering citizens and government transformations.

Citizen Beta is a meetup I started with Josh Russell in 2015.

We’ve hosted organisations like GDS, mySociety, 38 Degrees, Google, Facebook, civil servants from the Ministry of Justice, Department of Work and Pensions and many more. We also demo ​new projects from people like OpenSensors.

It’s mainly for people working in and around civic technology, empowering citizens and government transformation. Anything that builds tools to help make citizens’ lives better, or to better hold power to account.

At the moment it’s being run by me, Imeh Akpan and Ira Bolychevsky.
